So This girl is amazing! I saw her perform yesterday at Middlesbrough Music Live at the Cosmos Stage (upstairs at the central) and she was amazing. Her name is Nadine Shah, she's from Whitburn in the north east near the sea and she's half Pakistani and half Norwegian...Beautiful. Still got a geordie accent like! I can't her music was folkey, alternative, moody, intense, intricate, and beautiful. She reminded me of regina spektor in that she had a folkey cultural influence thing going on, at the beginning of her set she did this vocal solo intro that reminded me of a middle eastern woman singing with all the intricate vocal riffs and trills! it was amazing. she said in between her songs that she was glad it was raining outside or 'this' (her songs) wouldn't really have fit in. which may have been true, they were quite moody but non the less stunning. I would definitely recommend seeing this girl live so you can experience what I did! this song in particular was lovely Even The Duke, haunting.
So...

t-shirts out my ears!

Right, so this on my left is just one example of the t-shirt madness that is sweeping the nation (not really I just love that phrase) but my mind is pretty much taken over atm by t-shirt designs or ideas! it's mental!

I have recently took my A Level graphics exam and the final piece that i did in the exam was....a t-shirt. it's pretty cool though it consisted of about 25-30 little coloured pencil illustrations of things 'to do with' summer (my project title was 'Summer') they all crammed in the nicest way possible onto the front of this t-shirt in a nice washed out pencily kind of way. :) i was really pleased.

if you are reading this please click this link and look at my Threadless account, make some comments on my 'Critiques'.

meanwhile, life is cool, got loads that i worry about, loads that i think too much about, and loads that I'm exited for, loads that i regret, loads that I'm battling with in my head, and loads that i love. does everyone think so much? and think about possible scenarios all the time? I can't help but wonder, what if I'd done this, what if i didn't think this, what if this was ok? :| and it makes it hard to be ok with decisions that i make. so that sucks a little bit there were some positives in that list!

I will undoubtedly add more pictures and posts about my new career as a t-shirt designer, (pahh!) i will definitely be posting soon, i have a lot on my mind at the minute, but until then this is it I'm afraid!

Hasta Luego!

1st Post

"so it had to happen some time! i have put off doing this for ages, i don't really know why, i think it's cause i always want the 1st thing to be the best, or at least really good, that's why i have 2 moleskine sketchbooks on my window sill waiting to be broken into! and why i have 3 separate blogging accounts all with nothing on. well, 'here goes'.

So my life, for those reading who don't know me, consists of a number of things some normal, some not so normal. Music, as cliché as it is to 'not be able to live without music' i think there is some truth in this statement, i do enjoy music a lot, i play the guitar and sing, and attempt to play the piano, as well as loving listening to music. i think music helps you bring out your emotions, and helps you to express how you feel, listening and playing. i wish i could write songs, i have tried for those who tell me to 'just give it ago', i have given it all of my goes and have accomplished nothing. i study music technology and i love creating all kinds of crazy sounding music using what ever rubbish my college can provide us with on their tight budget. i recently composed a piece of music using samples of Barack Obama's New Hampshire pre primary speech (where he came 2nd to Hilary Clinton, which i think is mental considering its the famous, 'yes we can', 'we want change' speech). Click Here to have a listen! i really enjoyed making this, my favourite bit is 2.25 in where i played the harmonics and used compression to bring out the ring. MMMM! so yeah, that's music. well a slice of how it fits into my life.

music brings me nicely to another massive part of my life, which is Worship. i am a Christian, i believe in God the Father, God the son (JESUS), and God the Holy Spirit. i believe that Jesus died to save us from eternity with out him, and that the reason that happened was because God loves us all too much! so how does music fit into all this? well i am created to worship God, and to give him a whole load of stuff, listed here! one of the ways i love to worship God is by singing to him, playing my guitar or piano and singing what i feel towards him. so yeah! music = worship to me! (there is a whole other debate about weather all music is worship to God, maybe i will leave that for a later blog post when i am more established in the world of the blogger). In church i sometime play in the worship band, sometimes even lead the band and the rest of the church in worship and i love it when we can all just be honest, where we can all just sing to our creator tell him how amazing he is, tell him how much we love him, and how much we love what he has done for us!

The creator brings me nicely onto my next point, which is Design (see what i did, creator, designer? haa, ok no! :\)I do graphics, i like making images that please the eye, one of the reasons i like graphic design, is cause its the nice version of art! haha! well most art, but then the art that i do like i could class as graphics in a way anyway so there we go! i like order, and neatness, so graphic design helps me do this in a creative way (much more interesting that just tidying your bedroom!). so as you can see that picture at the top of this post says my name, and i did in fact make that image, and if i don't say so myself, no one else will, (haha) i think it looks pretty good! so yeah that was a very brief look into my life as a designer (picture doer), but i no doubt will write about that more in the future.

So that is a 3 point take on my life, music, god and design. but not in that order! :D hope you have enjoyed.
Peace out."
